As we all know, the media has the power to shape public opinion and perception. When it comes to reporting on the issues that Black women and girls face, it's crucial that reporters approach these stories with fairness and understanding. This requires being trauma-informed, recognizing the unique and often harsh violence that Black women and girls experience, and the fact that these experiences are all too often underreported. By taking these steps, reporters can help ensure that the voices of Black women and girls are heard and that their experiences are accurately represented in the media.
